METRO VANCOUVER — TransLink plans to boost bike patrols and introduce police dogs at SkyTrain stations in an attempt to bolster security and quell a public perception that the transit line is a magnet for crime.

One of the biggest security contracts for the 2010 Winter Olympics is up for bids.

The RCMP Vancouver 2010 Integrated Security Unit published a request for proposals Monday, seeking companies to staff the airport-style security checkpoints at Games’ venues.

Three windows were broken at the McDonald’s at Gordon and Wellington streets late Thursday or early yesterday, Guelph Police said last night.

Damage from that and graffiti on the building is estimated at $5,000.

VANCOUVER, B.C. — Traffic accidents may snarl Vancouver traffic on any day but if that day falls during the 2010 Olympics, the consequences could be a lot more severe.

On Saturday November 22, the RBC on cook st. in victoria BC was attacked. We smashed a window and shut off the gas to the building. This was done because RBC is a major sponsor of the 2010 games.
